The School of Ministry is an 11-month program that prepares ministry students with hands–on ministry experience, 1-on-1 ministry leader coaching, and interactive and dynamic cohort-style learning through teaching and discussion.

Dr. Grant Ethridge
Senior Pastor of Liberty Live Church
Dr. Grant Ethridge is the Senior Pastor of Liberty Baptist Church in Hampton Roads, Virginia. He holds seven academic degrees, including a Doctor of Ministry and a Doctor of Divinity. He served as President of the National SBC Pastors’ Conference, as President of the Arkansas Baptist Convention, as President of the SBC of Virginia, and on many other state and national boards and agencies.
Dr. Ethridge became Senior Pastor at Liberty in 2006. Since that time, the church has baptized over 6,800 people and has been recognized in the Top 100 Fastest Growing / Largest Churches in the U.S. Liberty is a multiethnic, multigenerational, multisite church, with locations in Hampton, Suffolk, Chesapeake, Williamsburg, Smithfield, and Gloucester, Virginia. In 2017, Liberty launched LibertyLive.Online, an interactive, online worship experience.
Dr. Ethridge and his wife, Tammy, have four children and nine grandchildren. They have one son, Christian, who went to be with the Lord June 4, 1992.
Dr. Scott Payne
Executive Pastor of Ministries
Dr. Scott Payne is the Executive Pastor of Ministries of Liberty Live Church in Hampton Roads, Virginia. He joined the Liberty staff in 2008 and has been instrumental in expanding the reach of the church through guiding the launch of and overseeing Liberty’s campuses. He is passionate about providing strategic leadership and developing the staff to accomplish Liberty’s mission and vision. Dr. Payne is a second chair leader by calling and training.
He holds two Master’s Degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry from Gateway Seminary.
Dr. Payne is married to Robin and they have two daughters – Emily and Kerri.
Dr. Dalton Stoltz
Associate Pastor at Liberty Live Church
Dr. Dalton Stoltz has served in a variety of capacities at Liberty Live Church in Hampton Roads, Virginia. Dalton has a clear passion to encourage and equip leaders to serve at their highest potential. He holds four academic degrees, including a Doctor of Ministry with an emphasis in Executive Leadership from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Dalton has served in a variety of capacities at two churches in Virginia, including serving for over a decade at Liberty Live Church.
Dr. Stoltz and his wife Lindsay have four children – Noah, Cohen, Eli, and Isabella.
School of Ministry faculty also includes other Liberty Live Church staff and guest speakers.
